1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using Sakina ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the App.
2. Eligibility
The App is not directed to children. You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country, if higher) to use the App. By using the App you represent that you meet this requirement.
3. Description of Service
Sakina is an Islamic lifestyle app designed to help users maintain mindfulness and spiritual focus. The App provides features including prayer time notifications, dhikr (remembrance) tools, and an app blocking service that monitors device usage to help users reduce distractions during prayer times and daily life.
4. App Blocking & Usage Monitoring
On iOS, the blocking feature uses Apple's Screen Time (Family Controls) framework; your selection of apps and the blocking itself are handled on your device by Apple's framework, and Sakina cannot see which apps you use. On Android, the feature uses Usage Access and Display Over Other Apps permissions solely to detect when a protected app is opened and to display a pause screen. All monitoring is performed locally on your device.
5. User Responsibilities
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your device and account. You agree to use the App only for its intended purpose and in compliance with applicable laws. You must not attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or modify the App.
6. Subscriptions & Billing
Sakina offers auto-renewable subscriptions that unlock premium features. Payment is charged to your Apple ID (or Google Play account) at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically for the same period and price unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel your subscription in your App Store or Play Store account settings. Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription. Prices are shown in the App before purchase and may vary by region.
Purchases are processed by Apple or Google and are also subject to the terms of the respective app store. Refunds are handled by Apple or Google in accordance with their policies; we do not process payments or refunds directly.
7. Intellectual Property
All content, design, and functionality of the App are the property of Sakina and are protected by intellectual property laws. The Quranic verses and Islamic supplications included in the App are part of the public Islamic heritage.
8. Disclaimer
The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. Prayer times are calculated algorithmically and may vary slightly from local mosque times. We recommend verifying prayer times with your local Islamic authority. The app blocking feature is intended as a self-discipline aid and may not work on all devices or configurations.
9. Limitation of Liability
Sakina shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use or inability to use the App. This includes but is not limited to missed prayer times, app blocking malfunctions, or data loss.
10. Termination
You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it. We may suspend or discontinue the App, or any part of it, at any time. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination — including intellectual property, disclaimers, and limitation of liability — will continue to apply.
11. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
